I can't stop reading!!!!!

I'm addicted and can't stop reading!!! I discovered the public library this year. I know that sounds weird that I just discovered the library but I just never thought about going. I had always bought books so I didn't read all that much plus I didn't have a lot of time. Well now...the books are free...and I have time.

I love Karen Kingsbury, Francine Rivers and Terri Blackstock. I just finished the first book in the Newport 911 Series by Terri Blackstock. It was really good. It took all of....ummm....2 days to finish. Yes I'm addicted. It's a good thing that I don't have Book #2 here with me. I've started one of Francine Rivers books but it takes a while to get into them but when I do I am completely involved.

I just got on Karen Kingsbury's website and found out the her book "Like Dandelions Dust" is being made into a movie and coming to theaters. It's a great story about adoption...I'll definitely be checking that out.

If you like to read these are some great authors to check out!!!

Back to the Sewing Table

After a brief siesta, I'm back to the sewing table. My friend K told me about some long sleeved shirts that were in at a store here in town on Friday night so guess where I went....yep you guessed it...I went a got the shirts. They had a purple and turquoise that matched some ribbon I had bought perfectly. So that's what I did today during one of my addictions(The Young and the Restless)....I sewed ribbon on to 5 shirts.

I also ordered some new fabric to make some Christmas dresses. I can't wait to get it in. Check it out.

So I think I'm back in the sewing mood so I hope I don't bore you with the new creations.

First Day of School

Well Monday was L's first day of school. He had a great time and came home exhausted. Everyone has asked how I did....Well I did fine...Maybe better than fine. I hope there is nothing wrong with that. L was in daycare from the time he was 8 weeks old until June so I've been used to dropping him off everyday. We've had a great time this summer but it was time for him to have more to do and some consistency. So I think that is why I had such an easy time. I love my son very much and miss him during the day so I guess I'm just one of those weird kindergarten moms.

A and I made it fine. It was actually pretty quite around here with it being just the two of us. We got some cleaning done and some errands ran. Other than a pretty calm day.

Lost???

I just finished reading "And the Shofar Blew" by Francine Rivers. She is the same author of "Redeeming Love". This was an incredible story of a pastor that LOST his way in Christ and did everything to glorify himself instead of Christ. That's all I'm going to say about the book b/c it's great and I hope you read. I don't want to ruin it for you.

Our sermon this morning was about people being LOST. Neal even talked about how people can wander off from their faith and get LOST and that as the Church it's our responsiblity to help people to find their way back. He even mentioned how it is possible for people to get lost in a church. I can honestly say I have been there and have seen others there. It's sad that people can get lost in all the programs, committees, and what nots within the church.

All this to say....I know God is speaking to me about this...I'm not sure what he is trying to say but I'm listening...ears wide open.

I've struggled with quite time and still do...I need you guys to hold me accountable...so I don't get LOST. Cleaning house, laundry, dishes, more laundry, sewing, errands....the list goes on but those are the distractions that we face on a daily basis. I know that things would just go smoother if I would just give God his time.

Where have I been?????????

I've been here and there....I just haven't had time to blog.

We took a family trip to Houston to visit E's family down there a couple of weeks a go. It was the longest trip we have taken with the kids so far. I can't count the times we heard "How many more minutes?". L likes to measure things in minutes....not hours, not miles, but minutes. A kept asking "Are we in Hooston yet?". All in all they did fine. We know where all the play yards are along the way...By the way Marshall does not have a play yard at any of the restaurants. We watched 4 movies...at least. Their favorite was "Everyone's Hero". It was so cute. It's about a boy that's trying to get Babe Ruth's bat back to him and traveled from NY to Chicago.

We finally made it and we were in the pool within an hour. The kids loved having a pool right out side. Their swimming improved quite a bit too while we were there...they didn't hang on to me the entire time. :)

We made it home...and thankfully the kids and I slept for 3 hrs on the way home. We loved hanging out and getting to see our friends and family down there.

I also had the booth at Ladie's Night Out. I've been working on dresses, shirts, bows and diaper cakes. It went well. There were almost 2000 people that came through. We handed out a lot of business cards so hopefully we will get some calls.

My friend B called and placed a diaper cake order for a friend...I think this was one of my favorites.

We also have played...quite a bit. We've been to the lake.

We've played in the sprinkler...

And went to the coolest place called "Party Central" with some good friends...

The past couple of weeks have been fun. The summer is winding up and it makes me sad because we won't be able to spend as much time with our friends playing but it's time for L to get back to school.

Until next time...
