My Goals....PROVERBS 31

Hymn to a Good Wife
10-31 A good woman is hard to find,
and worth far more than diamonds.
Her husband trusts her without reserve,
and never has reason to regret it.
Never spiteful, she treats him generously
all her life long.
She shops around for the best yarns and cottons,
and enjoys knitting and sewing.
She's like a trading ship that sails to faraway places
and brings back exotic surprises.
She's up before dawn, preparing breakfast
for her family and organizing her day.
She looks over a field and buys it,
then, with money she's put aside, plants a garden.
First thing in the morning, she dresses for work,
rolls up her sleeves, eager to get started.
She senses the worth of her work,
is in no hurry to call it quits for the day.
She's skilled in the crafts of home and hearth,
diligent in homemaking.
She's quick to assist anyone in need,
reaches out to help the poor.
She doesn't worry about her family when it snows;
their winter clothes are all mended and ready to wear.
She makes her own clothing,
and dresses in colorful linens and silks.
Her husband is greatly respected
when he deliberates with the city fathers.
She designs gowns and sells them,
brings the sweaters she knits to the dress shops.
Her clothes are well-made and elegant,
and she always faces tomorrow with a smile.
When she speaks she has something worthwhile to say,
and she always says it kindly.
She keeps an eye on everyone in her household,
and keeps them all busy and productive.
Her children respect and bless her;
her husband joins in with words of praise:
"Many women have done wonderful things,
but you've outclassed them all!"
Charm can mislead and beauty soon fades.
The woman to be admired and praised
is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.
Give her everything she deserves!
Festoon her life with praises!

I actually saw KBell's post about this and it's been something I've really, really been thinking about and struggling with.

I'm not good at this...I tend to put E on the spot too often which he doesn't like and I know that and should respect that.

She shops around for the best yarns and cottons,
and enjoys knitting and sewing.

I love to shop and knit and sew and I like nice stuff but I don't think that this is what it means.

She's up before dawn, preparing breakfast
for her family and organizing her day.

Friends are you laughing as hard as I am!!!! I love sleep and rest way to much! I pray to have more energy and to be able to get up but I don't. I even had my alarm set for 6 this morning so I could get up and get going around the house before I had to leave for the day. Did I get up...nope!!!! I'll try again tomorrow! Breakfast...my family fends for them self for breakfast and organizing my day...HA! I try but just doesn't happen.

No hurry to call it quits...HAHA...I want to quit before I start! And crafts of the home...would that be cleaning...not so good at that either.

If you need anything, I'll be the first to offer the shirt off my back. (Maybe something I'm doing half way decent)

I try to say things worth while and say it kindly but sometimes I fail...ok a lot of times I fail. And as far as keeping my family busy and productive--do you consider sitting in front of the tv busy and productive...I didn't think so.

The woman to be admired and praised
is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.

Oh how I wished this described me...I love my God and my Savior but haven't been a good friend to him.

So I have a lot of work to do and honestly not sure where to start...yes I do know where to start...prayer, petition, time with my Jesus!
