In the past year, I've started the following Hobbies:
1. Sewing again (it's been years)
2. Knitting
3. And today...QUILTING!
My husband thinks I've turned into an Old Lady! He even makes fun of my purse because it's so big. He doesn't take into consideration that a MOMMY needs so much stuff to take care of the little ones.
As I have been sewing and look at different fabrics, I have found several fabric designers that I love....Michael Miller, Amy Butler and Moda. I've seen absolutely beautiful quilts that were made from fabrics by these designers.
My friend Amber is also to blame...she told me she quilts and it inspired me. We went to the County Fair and the quilt there were beautful...more inspiration. Also my Granny quilted several quilts. My quilt she gave me as a wedding gift is now my 6 year olds NIGHT NIGHT. He threw a fit when it was in the washing machine the other night. These are just a few reason why I wanted to learn.
Well I went to my first Quilting Guild meeting today. Needless to say I think we are going to have different taste in fabrics but that's ok...They are willing to teach me and I want to learn. They do a quilt every other year to be raffled for charity so it's for a good cause. I'll consider this charity work :)
Now that you know I'm 65 in a 30 something body...Please don't laugh...I'll be able to teach you when you get to 65 and want to learn.
Oh and by the way...I was the youngest there by at least 10 years if not more!!!!

We'll have to get together and quilt, quilt, quilt! I bet a quilt made with Amy Butler would be precious. I love that favric so much!!! :)
Can't wait to see your own project!
You're lucky you have the talent to do that kind of stuff!
Two of my best friends (and hiking partners) here are amazing quilters...one of them even worked at a quilting store. I think it's fantastic and have asked them to teach me! They're willing to teach me, I just need to find the time!
Teach me!!!
I'm not laughing! I think it's awesome. I love the quilts people make today. They are truly art. I get the hankering ever once in a while to be totally Little House on the Prairie. Quilting, canning, all that!
